Well...we made it!
Through our first meeting, that is. We got a lot of really wonderful information, though I don't know that any of it was unexpected or new to us. We knew that infants were in short "supply" and high "demand" (hate to use those terms when speaking of people!) but that is the one thing that perhaps was different than we expected. They adopt out maybe 3-10 relinquished infants per year-far less than what we had thought.
That's okay with us, of course, we want to share our life with another child (or children?), and if that means adopting a little one who isn't so little, we are happy to do so.
We are in the process of filling out our application-which of course comes with a financial obligations along with it. We will be having some fundraisers soon, and if any of our loved ones have donations (even for things we can sell) we would be so grateful!
Love,
The Parkers
